Member/Member Update

We have had an excellent response to the Member/Member this year, and as a result, our numbers have increased over 2017.  With our cart fleet and some extra carts we were able to order, we have a maximum capacity for 112 riders.  All players who have registered as of Wednesday, September 12th are guaranteed a cart.  You are welcome to sign up past this deadline, and your registration will be placed on a "waitlist".  This waitlist is for CARTS only.  You will still be registered to play in the event, however, we cannot guarantee you a cart - cart requests will be filled by order on the waitlist the morning of tournament play.

Ladies Tombstone Tournament

On Sunday, September 9th the Ladies section had their annual Tombstone Tournament. For a full recap of the event click HERE.

Course Care

As the season winds down, we wanted to take the time to go over some course care best practices. Click HERE to view 2 videos: the first outlines how to properly repair a ball mark on the green, and the second shows how to fix a divot. We encourage all members to take a moment to watch these.

Our Titleist Golf Ball promo (Buy a dozen and get entered to win a bike) has come to a close.  We are pleased to announce that Henk Venter was the winner of the draw!  Congrats Henk, although it may be tough to steer with one arm.

Busy week at the club...

Club Championship Results

What a weekend!!!  What a finish!!!  Congratulations to all of our Champions!  The hot temperatures brought with them some hot scores.  Before we get to the results, we wanted to take a minute and thank everyone who participated in doing their part to maintain an exceptional pace of play all weekend long, especially in the previously mentioned heat and humidity.  The average time it took for each threesome to complete their round over the course of the weekend was 4 hours and 10 minutes!!!

Men's Champion

KLIMCOMM_120180806-DKP_9437.jpg

Taylor Tyminski
72 / 74 / 72 (218)

Congratulations to defending champion Taylor Tyminski who shot a final round 72 in what will certainly be remembered as one of the most exciting finishes in recent championship memory to win the 2018 Men's Club Championship by 3 strokes over Joe Miszk & Luke Delgobbo.  Taylor had a 4 shot lead heading into the final 9 on Monday.  After firing a front nine 36, Luke Delgobbo promptly birdied both the 12th & 13th holes in succession to get 2 shots back of the lead.  Not to be outdone, Joe Miszk (a multiple time champion in his own right) also birdied numbers 12 & 13 but added one more on 14 to get 1 shot back of Taylor by the end of the 14th hole.  Ever the steady Champion, Taylor made an incredible birdie on 15 and followed it up with another on 16 to officially shut the door on Joe and Luke's combacks!

Ladies Champion

KLIMCOMM_120170807-DKP_3564.jpg

Stefi Markovich
78 / 74 / 75 (227)

Stefi Markovich continued her dominance in the Ladies Division with her 9th Lookout Point Club Championship victory.  Stefi can add another trophy to what is a long list of golf accomplishments from the junior, amateur, local and provincial levels.  After starting the championships 5 over par through the first 12 holes, Stefi played the final 6 holes in 1 under par during round 1 to take a 2 shot lead into Sunday.  While her competitors struggled with difficult pin locations and windy conditions Stefi made 5 birdies en route to an even par 74 and a 10 shot lead heading into round 3.  Consistant play in the final round highlighted by birdies on 1 & 12 put no doubt in anyone's mind that Stefi would retain the title for 2018.  Congratulations Stefi - Well Played!!!
