Golf Shop Hours

Starting Monday, October 8th the Golf Shop hours of operation will be from 7:00 am - 6:30 pm. The Back Shop will remain open until the last members are off the Golf Course. Our driving range and practice facilities will be opened in the mornings a half hour prior to the first tee time and will close approximately an hour before sunset.

From the Grounds Department

As you may have already noticed Aldo and his grounds crew have started to prepare the golf course for the off-season by Mini Tine venting our greens. This provides oxygen to the root system which will help to strengthen the grass before the cold weather returns. Preparation for the winter will continue over the next month and we will keep you informed of the process through our weekly e-blasts.

It’s also very important over the next month that we are all doing our part to assist our grounds crew in maintaining the health of our golf course. We ask all members to ensure you are replacing your divots (in particular on the par 3 tee decks) and repairing all your ball marks. If a divot cannot be replaced then we encourage you to use the dirt mixture provided on the golf carts and on the par 3 tees.

Monday, October 8th

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend! With the holiday this Monday we will not be doing our regular scheduled range maintenance. As a result, the driving range will be open all day Monday, October 8th.

A reminder that all shop credits earned prior to the Member/Member tournament need to be redeemed before the end of the season. There’s some great deals and promotions ongoing in the shop that you can take advantage of. Stop by today!!!

2018 Ladies Champions:

Trish Farrow & Daleen Venter

This past weekend we contested our Annual Member Member tournament. This is one of the more unique member events in our calendar year that uses 4 different 9 hole formats over the course of 2 days of competition. These formats include Alternate Shot, Best Ball, Scramble and Total Score. The key to winning this event can be summed up in one word: CONSISTENCY. It is more about where you finish in relation to the field each day rather than your actual scores.

In the Men’s Division, Gino Paolone and Joe Spiler were the most consistent in the field placing 13th in Total Score (33 Points), 10th in Alternate Shot (35.5 Points), Tied for 4th in Team Scramble (40.5 Points) and 15th in Best Ball (30.5 Points) for a 2 day total of 139.5 Points.

In the Ladies Division, the top 3 teams all finished within 1.50 points of each other but in the end it was the consistent play of Trish Farrow and Daleen Venter who became 2018 Member Member Champions with a point total of 34!!!

Member/Member Update

We have had an excellent response to the Member/Member this year, and as a result, our numbers have increased over 2017.  With our cart fleet and some extra carts we were able to order, we have a maximum capacity for 112 riders.  All players who have registered as of Wednesday, September 12th are guaranteed a cart.  You are welcome to sign up past this deadline, and your registration will be placed on a "waitlist".  This waitlist is for CARTS only.  You will still be registered to play in the event, however, we cannot guarantee you a cart - cart requests will be filled by order on the waitlist the morning of tournament play.

Ladies Tombstone Tournament

On Sunday, September 9th the Ladies section had their annual Tombstone Tournament. For a full recap of the event click HERE.

Course Care

As the season winds down, we wanted to take the time to go over some course care best practices. Click HERE to view 2 videos: the first outlines how to properly repair a ball mark on the green, and the second shows how to fix a divot. We encourage all members to take a moment to watch these.

Golf Shop News, September 5th, 2018

To all the volunteers...

We would like to start off by thanking you for making our week hosting the Ladies Mid and Senior Am Championship a huge success.  We could not have done it without you.  The feedback from Golf Canada has been positive along with the response of all the participants.  We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Golf Canada for year's to come.

Always go the distance winner!!!

Our Titleist Golf Ball promo (Buy a dozen and get entered to win a bike) has come to a close.  We are pleased to announce that Henk Venter was the winner of the draw!  Congrats Henk, although it may be tough to steer with one arm.

Busy week at the club...

Lots going on these days at Lookout Point!  Our Men's & Ladies leagues are in full swing in the final stages of their year-long competitions, and we have a couple of events coming up, some of which are still open for registration:

September 6th - Men's League Playoff's begin
September 9th - Ladies Tombstone
September 10th - Ladies Triple L
September 12th - Men's Senior Invitational
September 15th & 16th - Member Member

Later Start Times

Now that Fall is nearly upon us, we have moved back our morning starting time beginning at 7:36 am.  Please note, as the season progresses we will need to continue to adjust this further to accommodate daylight and our grounds department.  Our practice facilities will continue to operate 30 mins prior to the first tee time and close an hour prior to dusk.

Reciprocal Lottery Results

Thank you to everyone who submitted ballots for the below reciprocal times.  We had over 104 requests.  If you are unable to go to your assigned time, you may offer it to another member at Lookout Point.  In this case, please let our Professional Staff know the changes so we may contact the host club and update them.

There are a few OPEN reciprocals listed below.  These will be given away on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis by contacting Head Golf Professional, JJ Alexander at jj@lopcc.com.
