Welcome Back
The team here in the Golf Shop wants to extend a warm welcome to all our new members for 2020 and welcome back all our returning members from 2019. With the new season fast approaching we wanted to take a moment and introduce you to our 2020 Professional team and let you know who you can reach out to for all of your golf shop and member needs. Stay tuned for future e-blasts where we will plan on introducing you to ALL the members of our golf shop and golf services teams.
We would also like to welcome our own Dan Roud to the PGA of Canada and our Learning Center Academy as our newest teaching professional. As many of you may know, Dan has been working toward qualifying and earning his PGA of Canada status and was successful in doing so at the end of the 2019 season. Congrats Dan and welcome to the PGA of Canada.

CART PACKAGES NOW AVAILABLE
It’s time to renew your cart packages for the 2020 season. Feel free to contact any of the Professional Staff to set up your cart plan for this year.
GOLF COURSE UPDATE
We have had some nice weather recently and as a result, we’ve seen an increase in foot traffic around the property. In November 2019, the Green Committee published an update with their offseason plans. Please remember, this year we did not put any temporary greens in play through the winter. We had a very busy 2019 season and the course needs excess time to recover in order to open in the best condition possible in mid-April. Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen some wear and tear on the property and golf course. Divots and ball marks will not repair themselves at this time of the year and are sore spots come spring when we officially open. We ask that you please refrain from playing ANY golf on the property until we are officially open.

The time is almost here!!! Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for some updates and information from your Handicap Committee on the new World Handicap System.
The World Handicap System (WHS) is bringing major changes to the fabric of our handicap system. This new World Handicap System aims to bring the game of golf under a single set of handicapping rules and provide a more consistent measure of players’ ability between different regions of the world. It came into effect on January 1, 2020.
In order to help our members understand this new system, Golf Ontario will be making a 30 minute presentation on Tuesday April 14 at 7pm. A Q&A session will follow the presentation and everyone is encouraged to attend. Please sign up using our member events portal or click on the “seminar registration” link provided.
