WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THE GOLF SHOP - EPISODE 29

Message from your Professional Staff at Lookout Point Country Club

With another season coming to a close, we want to take a moment and reflect on what has been a memorable 2020 year in golf. Covid-19 impacted the game in a variety of ways. On the PGA Tour we saw a condensed schedule that has so far led to 2 first time major winners in Colin Morikawa (PGA Championship) & Bryson Dechambeau (US Open). We are looking forward to this weekend’s Masters and see what new challenges Augusta National will bring in November. Closer to home, we have had an outstanding season of competitive Golf for many of our members on the Local, Provincial & National levels. We could not be prouder of our Golf Shop & Golf Services team(s) for the way they responded to all the challenges they were faced with this season. Finally, to you the members, we want to thank you for all of your support and feedback - both positive & constructive - as we have attempted to do everything in our power to meet and exceed your expectations this season.

Please note the following updates to the Golf Shop, Food & Beverage and Clubhouse hours

Introducing the THERAGUN from THERABODY

A few weeks into the PGA Tour’s hiatus, Collin Morikawa began to feel some tightness in his hips. He’d been keeping up on his fitness and golf regimens, but admits—like most—he found himself on the couch more than usual. Having used it sparingly in college, the 23-year-old turned to a technique called percussive massage that’s been gaining popularity with both professional athletes and weekend warriors. Morikawa has now formed a partnership with the recently rebranded company, Therabody, maker of the Theragun. The devices are like a power drill of sorts that allow the user to target specific areas of the body with repetitive massage to relieve tension, increase blood flow and activate muscles.

The Theragun makes for an excellent Christmas gift and the Prime & Mini versions are now exclusively available in the Lookout Point Golf Shop. (click on the video below or visit the THERAGUN website for more information.

Note: We have a limited number of units in stock in the Golf Shop, but can place a special order for you.

Hole in One Club

Minutes before publishing this week’s newsletter we heard some roars from the course. Congratulations to Peter Vandervalk who made an ACE on the 2nd hole. This is the 3rd Hole in One of Peter’s career with his first back in 1979. Witnessed by Harry Weller, Rick Podrebarac & Tom Cottringer - the shot was from the Blue tees with a 6 Iron. Congrats Peter.
